Sascha Lobo

Digitalization and AI Expert, Author, Podcast Host

Sascha Lobo, born in 1975, lives in Berlin with his wife Jule Lobo and their three children Rio, Chilly, and Lou. His main areas of interest are digitalization and artificial intelligence, on which he has been giving lectures since 2006. In the same year, he received the Grimme Online Award for his blog Riesenmaschine. In 2013, after 38 university semesters, he completed his degree in Society and Economic Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts with a diploma. Since January 2011, he has been writing a weekly column on spiegel.de, initially only on digital topics, but now covering many major and minor contemporary issues. Since 2021, together with the internet and infrastructure company Cisco, he has been publishing one of the most listened-to tech podcasts in German: 'Understanding the Future – How Technology Changes the World'. Since 2022, he has been co-hosting the podcast 'Feel the News – What Moves Germany' with Jule Lobo. As an author, he writes non-fiction books about world and contemporary events for Kiepenheuer & Witsch; his most recent publication was 'The Great Trust Crisis' (2023).
