Nicole Königstein is an AI researcher and educator specializing in Large Language Model (LLM)-based systems and complex multi-agent architectures. Her work focuses on developing reliable and production-ready agentic systems with a particular emphasis on evaluation, security, and long-term system behavior. At Refline AG, the Swiss provider of cloud software for e-recruiting, Nicole Königstein is responsible for the AI strategy and the implementation of innovative agentic systems.
She teaches applied AI and agentic systems and is the author of "Math for Machine Learning" and "Transformers in Action," published by Manning Publications. Her upcoming books, "Transformers: The Definitive Guide" and "AI Agents: The Definitive Guide," will be published by O’Reilly Media.
She has served as an external expert for the European Commission and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), advising on the introduction and regulation of generative AI in highly regulated industries. She is also a member of the advisory boards of QuantMinds International and QuantStrats, two of the world's leading conferences at the intersection of quantitative finance, artificial intelligence, and systematic trading.
In the past two years, Nicole has delivered over fifty presentations, keynotes, and technical workshops worldwide, including at the University of Oxford, Cornell University, Bank of America, J.P. Morgan, and the International Faculty of Finance, as well as at international conferences such as ODSC Europe, the ACM Tech Talk, and European Women in Technology.
